    The Ruskin Society organizes a regular programme of events including talks, visits, and an annual celebration of Ruskin's birthday each February.

    Our events are social occasions which normally include refreshments or a meal.

    Events are open to all. Please book in advance according to the directions for each event.

The Ruskin Society organizes an annual celebration of Ruskin's birthday each February, along with one or two additional events each year.

Forthcoming events

5 December 2021 - memorial event for the 150th anniversary of Margaret Ruskin's death. At the church of St John the Evangelist, Shirley, Croydon, at 2.00pm (music from 1.50pm). The service will be led by the Revd. Lu Gale, Vicar of St John's, and will include a welcome from Dr Cynthia Gamble, former Chairman of the Society, and an address on Margaret Ruskin by Professor Dinah Birch CBE. Organ music will be provided by Professor Francis O'Gorman, Chairman of the Ruskin Society.

The 2022 birthday event is likely to take place on Saturday 5 February 2022.

2021 Birthday event

The 2021 Birthday event took place on 6 February. Dr Rachel Dickinson, Master of the Guild of St George, spoke on 'Ruskinian Wealth To-day'.
